But...I mean, yeah...just not sure how that kind of law gets passed like: "On the off chance this's ever a thing by some unknown miracle, let's count our eggs now and say you can't do that because it might be bad and scary..."

[He wasn't trying to be rude...but it certainly came out derisive. He just couldn't wrap his head around it. The Moonsea region made magic illegal because it had nearly destroyed the entire area. That made sense, at least.]

I'm sorry, I'm...I had to deal with a lot of...really stupid laws in my city when I took over some of that. It was a new level of frustration I hadn't expected.

I'm not thrilled by it, but I know they're all right. The people who help me, they're good ones and I know they'll take care of things.

Some, yes. I'm the Duchess Tremontaine - in my own right, after the illness and death of my husband. My grandson is much too young to take over, but there's really no one else who will look after the good of Tremontaine itself, and the people who work in it.
