[Amelia's had time to process her second's struggles with someone else having his face. Now it's time to speak to Chris directly.

Rather than reach out with video, she begins the way she always does: with a letter (of sorts).]

I'd like to thank you for your help the other day. My second told me what you did and how you helped him during his unfortunate run-in in the Down. Your sudden appearance left quite impression on Aloïs.

I would like to speak to you more directly. If you're amenable to it. I imagine we have a few things we could speak to each other about at great length.

[Well, this was a new one. He reads through the message a couple times, analyzing tone and word choice as much as the message itself. It seemed genuine, polite. Politic.

I think you'll find I am rather amenable, for curiosity's sake, if nothing else. Your second made it rather clear he was hesitant on further contact for at least somewhat understandable reasons.

I can make myself available at your leisure, I know a number of decent spots for a meeting in both the Up and the Down, if you've no preference.

[How delightfully political. Amelia can work with this. Her assumption had been that they'd speak through video before moving to a face-to-face chat, but she's happy to move up the timetable.]

Our meeting will just be for the two of us. I'll leave my second at home for what I hope is the first of many meetings.

[He takes a moment to decide between the Gray Room and Honestea. He was a regular to both often enough, they made good meeting places and neither would set the tone weird for a semi-formal meeting.]

The Gray Room will suit our needs, I think. Good drinks, decent food should we like it, and a comfortable atmosphere that promotes a private conversation.

[Just in case, he does send along the address as well as directions from the Dominant public housing to the place in case she hadn't yet figured out the phones entirely.]

[A true gentleman, it seems. Given the way he's been meeting her formality with his own, she finds she's not entirely surprised. She looks over the address and directions on top of her map, then quickly types out a response.]

It sounds perfect for a quiet meeting like ours. A little privacy would be well as we get to know each other.

Can you spare an hour or two tomorrow for lunch? 1 PM? If that's unsuitable, I can free myself for dinner the following evening.
