[It doesn't take long by motorcycle, even with the quick side-trip he makes.
He arrives at Bash's door with his bag over his shoulder that he takes a water bottle and handkerchief from before knocking.]

Hey, handsome. Y'know, if I'd known we'd end up here, I'd have asked you over to have that whole talk in person.
[But the thick hoarse from post-crying is still in his voice.]

He tucks the handkerchief away and presses the water bottle into Bash's hand.]
This was better, you'd have called me worse than mean for making you cry and still going through without pause for it.
Now come here, lovely.
[Chris moves in to pull him into a hug, a hand immediately moving to tangle into his hair.]

[He accepts the water bottle and the hug, closing his eyes and sighing heavily as that hand gets his hair. Because there truly is nothing better than that feeling, when someone else has got him like that.]
no subject
See? Texting's better for getting those true feelings out.
[He's joking, mostly. Texting was easier when words got hard to form.]
I think we ought to go to your couch and have a seat. I've got some decadent chocolate in my bag that's meant to be eaten and then you'll put your head in my lap while I pet your hair and tell you a few sweet things. What do you think?
no subject
[He even opens the waterbottle and starts gulping down the water once he disentangles, because that's a need.]

Chris leads them to Bash's couch and settles at one end to give plenty of room for the other man to stretch out. In the meantime, his bag gets left by his feet once he's retrieved the small choclate bar. Dark chocolate with cinnamon and cloves had seemed a combination Bash might like when Chris had seen it.]
Settle in here lovely, let me take care of you a bit. You do so well for those around you, but the care ought be returned time to time.
no subject
I'm really used to not being cared for much.
[That comes out quiet, in the stubborn tone of a child protesting the need for bedtime while already half-asleep.]
no subject
You? Really? I couldn't tell...[He smiles to soften the sarcasm.]
I find that's often the case for those used to taking care of all around them. A friend back home is the same. He's a father now, you'd think that would make sense from him, but he's been like that the whole time I've known him. He'd not be caught dead needing help unless it's from his wife.
That's no way to be, though, Bash. Even if it's hard, you've gotta let more than one person help you. Not saying a whole village, but more than one...and certainly more than the zero you've been working with.
