Suppose it'll depend what happens while I'm waiting, huh?
[He could think of a few things that would make it the worst wait and very few of them have to do with sex, but he's aiming to keep this light.]
Despite my...particular hang-ups, I'll always be happy to hold you. Like a blanket that talks back. Here- [He shifts them a bit again, this time so Jacob was lower on his chest, closer to the beat of Chris' heart while the cleric's fingers brush through his hair.]
You don't have to nap, but close your eyes and breathe for me, let your mind drift.

[ Forgive him Chris, but that really is very funny. Even so, Jacob shakes his head and brings a hand up against Chris' cheek. ]
You're far better than a blanket. Even a talking one.
[ Hes very serious when he says that, but lets it sink in a second before he settles as Chris suggests, single eye closing and his breathing slowing.]

I meant you...but the sentiment stands all same.
[Silly man. Silly man who still held Chris' heart in his hands so easily without even really seeming to know it. Or maybe he simply couldn't acknowledge it right now. It didn't matter. Chris pets Jacob's hair and keeps his arms wrapped around the other man like he might protect him from the world, from his own haunted mind...anything that might come for him.
After a moment, Chris speaks again, though he keeps his voice quiet on the off chance Jacob's dozing at all.]
I've got you...and I've no intention of letting you go unless you bid it.

[ Jacob knows it. He is in no doubt how much Chris loves him, and he knows how much he loves the other in turn. He simply feels like hes been torn and crudely put back into the tapestry of this life, and it is taking just a little while for his threads and Chris' to knot together again. Hes in no doubt they will, but presently its just good to be with him, relax in his presence and feel the weight of change and grief life off his shoulders momentarily. ]
That's the very last thing I am planning to do.
[ The words are soft ans quiet, but there all the same. ]

Good man. We'll lay like this a while then go make some dinner and you can keep me company. Tell me what foods you like these days. Maybe regale me with some of your stories.
