He glances to his friend and then shakes his head.]
We rallied together our forces, marched men and women into a battle some were trained for and others were no better than fisherman with spears in hand, and took them out to fight monstrosities of blood and bone while we used a real dragon to fight a fake one. Lots of people got hurt, I'm sure there's casualties.
[It's all the truth, at least.]

[ Had he not seen so many farmers and fishermen and soforth fight for a cause, he might have asked about that, but the Inquisition was not just trained soldiers and the Blight came for everyone regardless of their ability to wield a blade. Sometimes people have to fight, training or not. It's a choice, and knowing Chris as well as he does, he doubts any of the forced he rallied were pressganged.
But not really knowing if there's casualties? That's an odd thing to say and he picks at it, tugging the thread.
He can ask about the dragon later when Chris isn't so clearly avoiding something. ]

I didn't have a chance to look around before I arrived here, I'd been locked in the fight, looking up wasn't wise at the time.
Besides, there's other leaders and healers on the field, I'm sure they did all they could.

[ That all rings true, but he's still hiding something, and it feels important. But for how hard Chris is fighting him, maybe he should let it lie for time before asking again. He's not going to force Chris into facing something he's not ready for. ]
That's fair, battles like that are complete chaos, and you don't strike me as a sovereign who would lead from the safety of camp.
[ He gives a small and offers his hand out for the spyglass. ]
You wanted to see Kirkwall, didn't you?

I'd love to. Show me your favorite parts, the ones you miss. Tell me of them.
