[ What Chris sees as paltry though is everything Caleb needs in that moment. Comfort. Empathy. Someone he loves there, reminding him that things may change but he isn't alone and he isn't going to have to live without someone there for him.

Even if he loses others, he'll survive.

But in that moment, he needs that comfort and all that Chris offers.

So he lets him guide him to the couch, staying close to him. His fingers brushing against Chris' arm, against his shirt. Just needing to be close to him. ]
