[ Hawke makes an amused hum at Chris mentioning the tub. It puts him in mind of the early morning conversation they'd had some time ago where Chris had mentioned a long soak after rigorous activity then too. He files that information, intending to use it at some point to Chris' benefit. He has to wonder if anyone actually pampers Chris the way he deserves. Should get, even, or if Chris is too much like him in this regard. He always seems to be caring for others in some way. Not in the same exact manner as Hawke does, where he's always putting his own problems on the back burner, but-

And then he's suddenly pressed into the wall of the elevator, enveloped by Chris' presence and shuddering at the unexpected pressure between his legs. His thoughts scatter, still present but now a jumbled mess he has little hope of gathering up with the blond in his space and his mouth against Hawke's skin. He breathes in sharply, arms snaking around Chris' sides in a loose embrace as he tilts his head back more to offer easier access, skin warm and heart beating faster. ]

No one said you had to behave.

[ There's a heady excitement in Chris pushing his boundaries, he finds. He's not always in the mood for it, but in this headspace, when he's already resolved to surrender so many others, what's one more? The idea of being discovered becomes more of an enticement than a fear and he doesn't have to wonder at why, not really. Despite his mind being a tangled mess, he can see that plain as day; nothing its going to happen that he doesn't want happening. He's safe with Chris. ]

Chris tugs before he's ready and he stumbles from the elevator like a foal, flashing the couple an awkward smile that's only half for show. He's usually poised, but this sort of thing is very new and with his mind already jumbled and his making barely more than a token effort to force it to rights, he's slower to recover. It's why Chris is able to get behind him so quickly, or so he decides in the moment before his thoughts spiral away further and disappear altogether, dominated only by the feeling of Chris against his ass and the growling purr of threatened enticement. He shudders, already moving to hardness and considering the wisdom in letting Chris have his way right here.

The licentious grin of the dominant as he disappeared into the elevator flashes before his mind's eye and he thinks the better of it. Not because he's concerned of said dominant getting his hands on himself, but on Chris, and then causing them a great deal of legal trouble thereafter when they're forced to take the transgression out on his hide. It's a symptom of a bigger problem, and to cools Hawke's temperature for a moment.

"Another time for that. I'd rather succumb to your plans tonight than your whims." He twists in Chris' grip, grasping the cleric's hand in a tight grip and turning to kiss him appreciatively. Maybe a bit protectively.

Darling squeezes his insides too and he's glad Chris has turned away to find the door and let them in. Seeing the room is a nice distraction. Luxury is certainly right. He'd thought they'd end up in one of those hokey sort of rooms with a theme and silly trappings. He'd seen one awhile ago that was forest themed with painted walls and a tree branch chandelier. This is tasteful though and he wanders a meandering weave around the room, ending up by the bed to touch the soft fabric of the canopy. It's the wrong colors, but it reminds him a bit of the home he'll never get back even if he does end up returning to Thedas.

He drops his hand back to his side and turns around, a gentle smile on his face. "It's much nicer than I expected, actually. Not that I expected anything poor quality but they theme these things sometimes and I don't think I'm in the mood for waves projected on the ceiling and an enormous aquarium flanking the bed."

Walking over to Chris, Hawke leans in for a kiss. He probably shouldn't, not with starting a scene and all. Boundaries, something like that, but... he simply wants the kiss. From this man, right in this moment. So he silently asks with his body instead of his words and hopes Chris won't make him say it. Or maybe he hopes that he will.

Soft, yes, but more complicated for that instead of less. It's all he can do not to let it show on his face even if he can't help how he presses perhaps just a little harder than he meant, a little more desperately. It can be read as eagerness, he hopes. Anticipation.

Chris pulls back and softly touches his face with his knuckles. It's grounding and Hawke's eyes focus their stormy blue on green and finds some semblance of peace there already.

"We're meant to get me from my head." He rumbles, taking a shallow breath and exhaling slowly. "Bind me so I have no choice but to be still and know that's all I'm meant to be for awhile."

He fixes his gaze on a point past Chris' head for a moment, unfocused again as he thinks over his safe word. Sloth seems too much right now, with the weight of his inaction baring down. The word has more meaning than he wants, but that's the point isn't it? It would certainly bring him out of anything else. "My safeword is sloth."

He swallows, looking down and trying not to lean into that hand on his jaw. He's not sure he's relieved or bereft for Chris moving it to gesture to the bag, but if he hadn't Hawke may have said something he'd regret. He takes another breath, flashing a smile and trying instead to focus on what they're doing, the point of it, and not how it may make him ache. What he has no thought for is feeling safe because it's not a feeling here. It's knowledge, an immutable fact in this moment that Chris knows what he's doing and the only wrong Hawke can commit is not to follow directions. Simple. Easy. Chris, at least, will not hurt him. Hawke does enough of that all on his own.

Retrieving the collar is its own sort of satisfaction. A small task to perform, and so he goes to rummage in the bag, head already feeling a bit clearer for his fingers wrapping around the leather band. He returns to give it to Chris, holding the strip with two hands almost as a knight presenting a prize to his lord, though he doesn't kneel just yet.

Hawke obeys. He kneels without question, watches Chris' face quietly as he fastens the collar, but in so doing he notices something a little off. It's not anything big, just an unfocused quality to Chris' gaze, something turned more inward than without, and it only lasts a moment.

But Hawke still notices.

"Chris?" He says his friend's name softly, still kneeling with the blond's finger crooked through the ring at his throat, but the tone is less one of submission than of concern. Something is off.

"Are you alright?"

He leans into those fingers just a little, bringing his hand up to gently stop Chris from pulling them away. He holds lightly, but it's a hold nonetheless. A pause. Hawke can tell this isn't as effortless for Chris as his usual, even with them only having done a scene once, he knows his friend well enough to see when he's having trouble in general, not just getting in a mood or a mindset. They need to talk first, not for his own safety but simply because if Chris is troubled, then that takes precedence, full stop.

That deep breath to center himself cinches it.

Hawke kisses Chris' fingers and moves to stand. "You're safe too, Chris. You don't have to force anything for me, I'm not going to fall apart and I don't want to continue if there's something wrong, whatever it is. What's troubling you?"
wolfehawke: (hesitant)

[personal profile] wolfehawke 2023-02-11 02:43 am (UTC)(link)
Panic, and Chris' hand on his shoulder, and that's all Hawke needs to know that he'd made the right call previously and is making the right one now. He just never thought he'd have to do it this way.

"Sloth."

He says it simply, looking up at Chris from his now half-crouch and waiting to see what he'll do. The concern he feels shows, but the part that worries Chris will be angry that he's used his safe word this way is tamped down behind the more immediate worry that Chris was trying to push through as he was.

The collar feels a bit too tight all of a sudden, but he leaves it on for now, waiting and watching, worried for his friend but not for himself save in that one regard.

"I'm using it because you asked if I wanted to stop and I did. That's what it's for, isn't it? I've not done that wrong?"

It's at least half an honest question and he doesn't mean anything sharp with it. Instead of standing back up, he rolls back into sitting, knowing it's probably going to be a trial getting up again later and not worrying about that just now.

"You're not unable, I don't doubt you and never have. It's me; once I've seen that there's something bothering you its all I'm going to be able to think about, especially if it's bothering you enough that I even notice. I'm not unobservant but you've always been good at masking things so if I have noticed something then to my mind it must weigh heavily."

He reaches back to try and remove the collar, having difficulty with the buckle trying to do that backwards and without looking. He gives up after a moment, deciding to just deal with it for now. He shifts, distinctly uncomfortable in a way that doesn't just belong to the collar. "Tell me I've done something wrong if I have, but I didn't use my word lightly."

"It's alright, there's no harm done." Hawke breathes a little easier for the collar being off. It's one thing to have it on for the purpose of a scene, it's another to just wear it when he's trying to have a conversation.

Hawke reaches up to hook his fingers around one of Chris' as he moves back away with it, a small but genuine smile mingling with the worry that's yet to be dispelled. He's heartened that Chris isn't calling it off completely or angry with him for using his safe word, but whatever this is he feels Chris should get off his chest if they're to continue. Even if they weren't, he'd still want to know and try to help. "Talk to me. I'm a friend first and anything else second, remember."

The pit is mentioned and Hawke goes still as he tends to whenever that comes up. It was a horrible time for everyone there, but he knew it had to have hit Chris at least as hard as it had himself. He'd seen Chris trying to keep his people together. So many of them had been there, and he'd helped his friend where he could, but there had been so many and they'd been so weak...

Hawke remembers to breathe before his lungs start burning, taking a slow and deep breath, casting his gaze down and placing one hand very lightly over Chris' on his knee. It's barely touching, more of a hover in how he knows Chris sometimes doesn't want to be touched, but he has to give something. "I'm sorry that happened. I know you hate being bound. That must have been dreadful."

He looks up again to meet Chris' gaze. "We don't have to do this if it's too much. I can find relief in other ways if I need to, don't push yourself if you're not ready."

It would be disappointing, but that's hardly of consequence if the alternative is Chris' discomfort or worse. "If you want to try and work through it, though, I'm here for you as well. We can do that in whatever way you think would help, all on your comfort, but I do want you to know that I would rather we never do this again than you putting yourself at all in distress on my account."

"Alright," Hawke offers an equally genuine smile in return, taking Chris' fingers in his own for the comfort of it. He kisses one gently and then lets go, not sure if even that touch was wanted but, guiltily, he took it regardless.

"I think you would have to try much harder for me not to feel safe with you, Chris. That's not shaken at all, only my ability to focus, but if you sincerely want to push through that, and you feel safe with me in return to do it, I'd like to try on both our accounts." He runs a hand through his beard, letting out a soft exhale. "Knowing this is part of what we're intending helps my worry for you, and I don't know if this is alright to think or not, but knowing I'm helping you by giving you this is a comfort of its own."

Maybe that's strange, but it's true and he hopes Chris doesn't balk at him for saying so. He ducks his head, rubbing the back of his neck, then looks up at him again with a twinkling eye. "I'm game to continue if you are, messere."

When Chris buckles the collar, Hawke's eyes drop closed for a moment. He lets himself feel the pressure of it, not any extra as he'd asked for the first time, just fitted snugly but comfortably in a way that bobs when he swallows. It's the hands in his hair that really take the tension out, though. That and the soft voice Chris adopts, not like he's giving orders but more guiding him towards where they both want him. Sometimes, he thinks, this might be too gentle but right now it feels right and what he wants. What they both want.

Trust. Care. An acknowledgement that they both have things to work through but they can do it safely with each other.

He takes the time he needs to sort his thoughts and set them aside, then reaches for Chris' hand to stand up. His knees creak as he does, one popping so loudly in the quiet room that he can't help but laugh at it. "Ooh, I think it actually feels better after that." He jokes lightly, squeezing Chris' fingers just a little.
