Tired, [ she admits, quietly, tucking her arms behind her. ] You are not the only one with frustrations. I feel you must be familiar, but as important as it is in keeping strife from growing - mediating conflict like this requires quite a lot of patience. On top of all the careful inquiries to find out what actually happened... It has been a very long week, on the heels of another long week.
[ So, she's exhausted. It's not unfamiliar - this was a regular occurrence back home, and she isn't bad at it. But she really doesn't like it, and she's just... very tired. ]
I am sorry it came to it, and I hope that whatever has happened - it's done, and we won't see more of it.

To my knowledge, it's done. I spoke with both Amelia and Lucien and came to that end...I also told Lucien to call me if ever there's an issue with her, as I understand he doesn't want you involved for the...mess having a dominant against a dominant might bring from the city. If it's in my power, that won't happen to him again.
[He starts to turn to look out on the city but stops as something occurs to him.]
Oh...and he's agreed to take a cream I have on hand that will smooth and soften the scrapes on his horns, please make sure he actually uses it, it will help.

I know that now - why he didn't want me involved. I almost wish he'd involved me anyway. [ She might have made things worse, if she'd known ahead of time. Seeing things in text, over the Finders, had helped her keep her cool as she responded to every message that she could read - if she'd heard it ahead, she may have simply hunted Miss Amelia and Mister Hawke down herself.
That was dangerous. Maybe Lucien had known that. ]
I thank you for your efforts. It was not easy, seeing all sorts of misunderstandings and assumptions being made, being excluded, when all you hope for is... to help.
But I'll see that he uses that cream. He does not like letting me know when he needs things. [ She hopes that's something that would change with time, though. She's obviously yet to earn his trust for something like that; now's the time to work and earn it. ]
Other than that, you've been taking care, I hope? You mentioned other disagreements within your family?

Some, yes...tensions rise and fall here all the time...and there've been external and internal forces to press on our bonds. Some more strongly tested than others, it seems. You'll forgive me if I'm sparse with the details, I doubt you'd like to share all your unpleasant secrets in reverse.
[It's politic and careful, but it's earnest. She seemed a good person to have close, but 'Scott trusts her' could only go so far until he knew her better for himself.]
Information can lead to vulnerabilities, misunderstandings, power, and security...it's more important than any wealth or power one can collect in this place. I get the feeling you might be familiar with that little song and dance, you seem a woman careful with her words.

Still, she takes care not to sound invasive or accusatory -- she can sense the defensiveness in the politeness and the caution in his choosing the right words. If she'd overstepped any boundaries... that would be a shame, but not something she'd apologize for. She just needs to know if people are alright. ]
I only wanted to know if you and yours were fine, and if not - if there was anything I could do in return. You've offered something for Lucien, after all, even after all that's happened. I am grateful for it. [ So she wanted to do something in return. ]

I appreciate the offer. I don't think there's much to be done by anyone, by all rights. Someone close to me stepped on and past a boundary of mine...and it's not the first time it's been done. Meanwhile, I've someone else who's constantly on the edge of breaking but likely never will...and another I think might be closer than they'd like to admit...beyond some other various things. All pushed and prodded by the city's machinations. I suppose...
[He looks to her then, a little more gentleness in his expression when he does.]
I suppose all I can ask is that what's happened between our families be truly done. I'd not assume you've got control over your friend, Kurt, but if I could simply know no one will be chasing after either Amelia or Wolfe, I'd deal with them myself without glancing over my shoulder so much. Truly, that's all I can think you could do, but the offer is much appreciated.
