Where do you need me?
no subject
Just the Duplex. Cyram's out. I'm not in the mood to make due with the cat and I don't feel like finding someone else's house to camp in.
no subject
Also you never ask me for anything
I’ll be by in a bit. Want me to pick anything up?
no subject
Pick up some sort of food to throw to the cat. I don't want to break his training.
no subject
Be there soon
no subject
And I ask for what I need.
no subject
[But it doesn't take him long to show up. He slips through the door as his wings vanish and reaches into his pack to retrieve the foil wrapped bit of raw fish he'd cut off one of his own filets before leaving. Sure enough, a demanding presence has him stooping to meet the welcoming committee.]
So, what's going on exactly? You're in need of company. You alright?
[He's sure Crais heard his arrival or will at least hear his call, even if Chris' attention hasn't yet left the cat.]</small
no subject
Besides, Sylvester loves it. ]
Yes. Cy's staying with a friend for a couple of days. It's fine, but I don't do alone and the cat doesn't quite cut it for longer periods of time.
no subject
Ah…well, more’n happy to help keep your head on right. You should try one of these.
[He pulls out a bag of fired mango bits rolled in chili powder and sets them down before turning his smile on Crais directly.]
I was introduced to them as treats for me when I’m playing as someone’s bird.
[He hasn’t actually told anyone about that little arrangement, but Crais is safe and not likely to spill Chris’ secrets at least out of indifference, if he had to guess.]
no subject
[ He's not judging, just curious. The paper sack of some kind of food for him, however, has his attention. He's already opening it and pulling out the piece of mango to try.
And physically, even, so much more relaxed just to have a presence with him. That can talk back. ]
no subject
Pet play for sure...
[Why else would anyone pretend to be an animal?
For now, he's going to take up a seat on Crais' couch.]
You should come put your head in my lap.
no subject
Anyway.
He frowns in confusion. ]
You don't like being touched.
what happened to this notif???
[He answers like it's obvious.]
But you do. And you need companionship.
no subject
Yes. I like contact. I also like my physical contact from people who enjoy it, and it has not a frelling thing to do with companionship. Go sit down. At the table.
no subject
Why're you upset about it?
no subject
If I needed contact I would have called someone able to provide it without being uncomfortable or at least been very clear about it. Your leap to something you don't enjoy because I asked for anything is ...frustrating. Don't do that to yourself. It's dumb.
no subject
I wouldn't have offered were I not willing, I offer to people I care about because it makes them happy and that makes it worth it. [Which is where his confusion lies now: Crais is not happy.] I'm not harming myself, this isn't like asking to be punched.
no subject
[ He drags a deck of cards out of a top drawer ('junk' drawer, but organized), a couple of bottles of beer from the fridge and the bag of dried, spicy mango and takes another chair. ]
I suppose it's also combined with you seeming to be surprised that I was asking for what I needed. Or whatever that was.
no subject
That is what that was. Or rather, not that you were asking for what you needed, but that you needed anything at all.
I’m glad you asked, just figured I’d offer what you’d likely assume was off table.
no subject
He'll remember the cards, shortly.]
I appreciate that and promise if it's something I need to let you know. You were surprised i needed something?
no subject
You just always seem to have whatever you need. Of course I jumped at the chance to fill a gap, but that doesn't mean I would have guessed you'd ever need it.
no subject
So, his expression starts at amused about both Chris never guessing he'd have a need and wanting to jump and fill in the gap. Hey, he voices what he needs when he needs it.
Followed by realization. Because he doesn't have very many needs, and there is a gap. Then he just looks... frustrated and tired.
He drags a hand over his face, then lets momentum carry that motion to the deck of cards, which he picks up to shuffle.]
Most of what I need. I'm glad you were willing to fill in. [ He pushes the cards at Chris ] Cut the deck.
no subject
He does as asked, at least, and cuts it in his customary threes before putting it back together and sliding it back.]
What's been going on, Crais? What's missing that's worked into your head?
no subject
I realized that the... social safety net I built to compensate for Cy's restless nature has fallen apart with people leaving and I haven't bothered to rebuild it.
