Are you free for a chat soon?
I've a favour I need to ask of you.
no subject
Anything you’d like, your majesty. Chat like this or in person?
no subject
In person would be good. Bit more important than your average texting message.
Or I can call. I'm not sure of your schedule these days.
no subject
You could come by marzipan terrace or meet me in the park or there’s a clean enough place near the elevators in the Down?

[Whenever she gets there, she will doubtlessly be (politely) greeted by the big white dog, Duke. Chris, for his part, is waiting for her there in the living room just past the entryway, tea set out and waiting while he scrolls through some things on his phone.]
no subject
I hope I haven't caused too much issue by calling for an impromptu meeting.
no subject
No...see, the rain comes down: you cover your head. It's cold out: you get a jacket. Sasha James needs something: you provide it best of your ability. What's on your mind, darling?
no subject
Well, Tim and I were talking about this whole wedding thing. And... [She hums a note as she sips, then turns her form to face Chris a little more directly. It's only polite if she's asking such a favour.]
And, well I--we were wondering if you'd do us the honour of being our officiant? Possibly?
no subject
I..I mean, I can and I'd honestly be honored to, but you so sure Tim's on board with that? It...if I officiate, there's gonna be a touch of magic to it. Nothing bad at all and it's subtle enough might not even notice, but I won't pretend it's not there.
Also...something raven-like will have to be involved and I don't want to color your wedding with a religion not your own.
[So a....cautionary yes? A yes that he has to preface, at least. The last thing he wants is some sort of upset on a day that's meant to be joyous.]
no subject
We're both pretty secular in our ways, so I don't think it'll be too much of an issue. Not for me, anyway, but I'll have a talk with him about it. The way I see it, no matter who helps us will have their own ways of doing things, and as long as there aren't any like... live sacrifices?
[She grins.] I think it'll be okay.
no subject
Luckily, I'm all out of sacrifices, so we'll have to skip that step.
No, just a bit of iconography on me, a small totem or something, and maybe a blessing before, but vows and trapping themselves can be whatever you like.
[He sits up again and leans in a bit, conspiratorially.]
Tell me your dream wedding thoughts, Sasha. We'll get JOn and Martin in on it, make it as grand as possible.
no subject
I-- ah...Heh. [A wee shrug as she looks into her teacup and back up to Chris.] I really don't have anything that's big or ... dreamlike, I guess. I've never really been the girl who dreams of being married one day. I'd honestly half-expected that Tim and I would have eloped and Anduin was going to officiate, but that would have left Jon and Martin out, and I didn't want that. Jon has offered to host. He's my Fellow-of-Honour, and he's been wonderful. Tim and I also don't really have the funds for something big, anyway. Maybe everyone heads to the pub afterward?
no subject
He turns even more, fully facing her with his legs crossed under him and tea cup set aside entirely. When he speaks, his tone is lower and even.]
We can, if you like, I've got an in with the Spread Eagle in Jacob Frye and I know Tim likes him well enough. Let me ask you this instead: what sorts of things do you like? Not to do, but just in general. Flowers, scents, scenery, an ideal vacation somewhere, colors and styles. That sort of thing. It's alright if you don't know what you want, but let's figure out something that'll make you happy.
no subject
Her finger rubs along the edge of her cup.]
Flowers? Um... I don't know. Lavender and hollyhocks are nice. Lilacs. Smell lovely, too. As for scenery, I lived in a city for so long, it was just nice to see nature when I had the chance. Gardens and meadows. Forests.
[A thought occurs to her. Her dark eyes level with him as she turns a bit toward his direction. A brighter smile sneaks its way across her lips.]
I didn't tell you. My dress? It's purple. Well... lavender maybe.
[A little off-topic than what he'd wanted to know, but perhaps it would help.]
no subject
Is it now? Don't tell me it's got an overabundance of buckles and black too. [His smile jolts wider playfully, but he shakes his head.] I'm sure you'll look lovely. You got someone to do your hair? Cause you know you happen to be looking at someone who fussed with ladies' hair for over a decade, I'd love to do something for you.
[He takes a sip from his mug.]
Have you considered using the garden out back here? Not overly fancy, but Jamie and MArtin keep it nice and healthy enough.
no subject
[And then a question that she hadn't honestly thought much about. Sasha's idea of hairstyling usually involved winding her thick locks into a bun and pinning it, or the occasional ponytail or braid. She sorely dislikes the fuss her hair gives her, and woe to the person who plans on having at her.
Sasha smirks and shakes her head.]
I honestly haven't put much thought into my hair. I'm so utterly useless at this wedding planning, Chris. I'd be honored if you would tame this beast into something lovely. [She lifts a bit that's resting over her shoulder as though to prove a point.
She brushes the pad of her thumb along his cheek, offering an apologetic smile.]
I absolutely did not mean for you to essentially plan the details of this. I'm so glad you're here.
no subject
He brings her hand up to his lips.]
So long as you're not feeling pushed or bullied into more than you want. If you want a few simple flowers, some nice music, and nothing too fancy, we can do that. If you want all that but then one or two huge indulgences, then that's fine too. I'd rather help you find what you want the day to look like than make it based on the notion of what I think you deserve. [His smile ticks up higher at one corner as his brows raise and he shrugs.]
Because, then, it's my day I've made for you instead of your day you wanted for yourself...and I'd rather not let that happen. So...don't be afraid to say no to something, promise?
no subject
Promise. I honestly would be okay with like... some twinkle lights and candles. Some music. It's just the few of us, and I'd honestly like it to be the least amount of stress possible.
[She huffs a laugh.]
Working on that.
no subject
I can make that happen for you. Simple, not too much, but still lovely enough to make a nice backdrop for what's meant for a memorable day.
[He shoots her a smirk and raises a brow.]
Oh are you? Good girl.
no subject
[It's all she can do. Right? She sighs quietly and smiles.]
At least I have a dress, a groom, an officiant and a friends. That's all that really matters in the long run.
no subject
That's all you truly need, you're right. So long as you're married and happy by day's end, it's a success.
no subject
Thank you. For everything.
