Poppyseed muffins. I'll remember that. I suppose he'll be a very pampered bird. Too good to go scratching for worms and the like. I was considering if he might like a perch, as well. Mind, there's a cat who likes to come round who might steal it when he's not playing, so he'll have to be willing to share.

[Jon's just going to send... a few photographs of indoor swings he's been looking at. He likes the one at Jamie's place and the one Martin got him for home. Having one in the lounge would be nice, and Chris could share it, if he likes the idea.]

[Oh...well, aren't those clever things?]

I'm sure he'd be more'n amenable. Such fine crafts are meant for use, not covetous intention. From my understanding, he's often quite fond of sharing.

Though, it did sober his playfulness.]

You know...as fun as I'm having, probably many a thing we ought talk about. Expectations and like. Not now, if it's not desired or not a good time, but soon enough.

[Jon's own thoughts catch, and he tries not to immediately backpedal. He's carrying on like they've already got some sort of relationship ironed out. It's irresponsible. He should be the one raising things like that, shouldn't he? Chris shouldn't have to. Although, it had been him to raise those sorts of questions with Daphne. But that was after they'd agreed and been doing things. It was his fault not understanding, really.

His anxiety takes longer than he'd like to quiet before Jon replies, tone hesitant.]

Yes, we ought to talk about that. In person, maybe?

[Jon's quiet and Chris can almost hear him thinking, though of what, he couldn't guess without seeing him.]

Always happy to see your face, Jon. Name time and place and I'll even grab a snack to share.

[Neutral ground. But somewhere private. And preferably deserted.]

I could... rent a hotel room? Unless you want to come to my house or have me come to yours. I-I'd just rather we have our privacy.

[Somewhere private. Despite having sat on Jon's roof a number of times, he didn't know the exact living arrangement inside. If someone came across them or interrupted them, would that be too embarrassing for Jon?

Maybe. He couldn't guess. Wouldn't guess, better to take out the possibility.]

Want your comfort for it as much mine, neither of us need to be dive-bombed by a bratty fledgling, so let's get the hotel room.

[There's a pause and then, a little quieter, he offers:] You know I'm looking forward to this, right? The talk, the play...all of it.

No. I- I know. I just- I want to get this right. [He needs to be good at this for Chris. He should take charge, then. That's the right way to do this.] I'll make arrangements. Don't worry about it. I'll- Yes. I'll see to that now and send along an address.
